School, the Foundation of Life – a Complex of Educational Buildings in Ostrava, Cerna louka
Holcová, Petra ; Müller, Zdeněk (referee) ; Ruller, Ivan (advisor)
Theme of the diploma thesis is architectural study of school buildings in Ostrava. It combines a kindergarten, primary and secondary school – a grammar school. The school is situated next to the cultural cluster Černá louka in Ostrava – the new designed cultural center of the city, and also on the bank of the river Ostravice. The main idea is adaptation of the scale of school spaces due to children of a different age, an orientation of classrooms to south-east and at the same time to the river bank. The kindergarten is separated from service and volume of the school, the primary school and the grammar school are united in one two- and three-store building with an inner yard. The buildings are accessible for pupils from an entrance square near Černá louka, the entrance for public is situated on the new designed street connecting Černá louka and Nová Karolina. The complex offers also sport facilities, a gym, a swimming pool and exterior sport ground which is accessible from the cycling track along the river Ostravice. The exterior look of the buildings is based on the construction, the reinforced concrete structure from white architectural concrete, and is animated by shading panels from corten sheets.
The Rehabilitation of the historical center and adjacent surroundings of Kyjov with a focus on the public space
Fojtíková, Martina ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the rehabilitation of adjacent surroundings of the historical center of Kyjov and revitalizing public spaces. Part of the thesis are the analysis of the current condition of the solved and affected area, problems evaluation and values of the territory and draft of a new building structure along with a working transport solution. The main criterion for the choice of the area to be solved for me was the problem of this locality with conjunction to industry area of the mills and a very small percentage of the quality of the territory. The mill site occupies almost a quarter of the area and together with surrounding buildings, makes a large impassable barrier in the city. The draft seeks to respond to the functioning state of the site and to rehabilitate the surrounding environment. Another factor for the selection of the territory was the unused potential of the river side Kyjovka flowing through the area. This area hides many other problems and there is no quality architecture. My task was to combine all aspects of the area and make the most of it for the draft. A new functional neighborhood of housing with public spaces and amenities is being designed on the area. The draft include 2 new streets, 4 public spaces, pedestrian zone, Kyjovka riverside, 45 new buildings and 10 reconstructed buildings. The concept of the area also concerns the transfer of the existing main railway station. The draft is also aimed on the main problem of Kyjov, as a growing age population, the poor quality of services and commuting to work.

Hána, Petr ; Jirásková, Věra (referee) ; Havlůjová, Hana (referee)
1950s may be classified as one of the worst periods in Czechoslovakia's history. The totalitarian communist regime in the period between 1948 and 1953 is called the Stalinism. The primary objective hereof was to evaluate teaching about the Stalinism period in Czechoslovakia in secondary schools, in particular, to assess the scope of correctness and completeness of the related curriculum and teaching methods. The secondary objective hereof was to introduce and describe the Stalinism as a typical example of totalitarianism and to define crucial elements of this non-democratic form of government using the example of Czechoslovakia from 1948 to 1953. The thesis proceeds from the theoretical part via a case study to the practical part. The first part classifies totalitarianism, defines its historical outset and determines its main features. The second chapter describes and explains the Stalinism, which is a typical example of totalitarianism having functioned in practice in the Soviet Union from where it spread to the majority of the Communist countries, including Czechoslovakia. The third chapter explains the practical application of the Stalinism elements and methods used to control a society according to the Soviet model using the example of Czechoslovakia from 1948 to 1953. The practical part hereof focuses...

For reaching the aim, the following tasks were established: -To discuss possible forms of teaching online. -To summarise the theory of linear equations. -To analyse textbooks for both primary school and lower-secondary school first from the viewpoint of a preparatory stage of equations and then the propaedeutics of equations in the framework of lower-secondary school. - To record the surveyed events connected by reflection. Botany Field Trips
Brabcová, Eliška ; Novotný, Petr (advisor) ; Kroufek, Roman (referee)
This bachelor thesis is devoted to the problem of field education in botany. Based on the available international and Czech literature, the thesis points out the current change in the attitude of the academic and lay public towards botany and the related educational implications. It also presents the dichotomy in the concept of field education - the traditional Czech approach of organizing field trips and the Scandinavian model of uteskole. Furthermore, the thesis questions the benefit of the conventional division of the field trip into stages - preparation, realisation and evaluation - in the context of striving for a more regular and conceptual field education. Within the actual implementation of field education in botany, it discusses selected aspects of nature walks, visits to botanical or school gardens. It bases the value of field-based botany education on the positive results of monitoring the achievement of cognitive and affective learning goals. It also emphasizes its importance in the relationship between the teacher and the group of students. At the same time, the thesis takes a critical look at field-based botany education through the general and individual barriers to its realization. In the context of the contemporary world, it focuses on the implementation of digital technologies in...
Educational Apps in Grammar School Biology
Fousková, Karolína ; Novotný, Petr (advisor) ; Bartáček, Tomáš (referee)
The rapid development of digital technologies is also influencing our view of what the content of education should be and what methods should be used to deliver it. The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of educational applications in the context of teaching biology. The thesis analyses three types of educational applications that are most specific or potentially beneficial for biology - visualisation, virtual laboratories and interactive textbooks. These types of applications are united by their ability to combine attractiveness to fun with didactic content, thanks to which they can positively influence the learning process of the student. For a broader context, the paper also includes a look at the positives and negatives of digital technologies that can be used for teaching. Despite their many advantages, such as rapid feedback, interactivity, collaboration or individualisation, technologies can cause severe health or psychological problems. These effects can be prevented by correct body positioning during use or parental control. The thesis also addresses the question of what expectations are placed on educational applications and technologies. One of the biggest expectations is the motivation of students for the subject. As biology can be more difficult for some students to understand,...
